"Tips on Life"
from the Spiritual Union Class
Sunday June 10, 2001
- There is a reason they call it the Golden Rule.
- Reach out to each other. We are all we leave on this earth.
- Remember your Family first. No matter what tries to take its place.
- Take time everyday to give thanks for all that God have provided for you.
- Hug your kids everyday
- Talk to God everyday
- Tell your family you love them everyday
- By putting things in God's hands, you will see that all things happen for a reason.
- Work hard...but play hard too.
- Enjoy every minute with your young children- even the terrible 2's - soon they will be teenagers.
- We should never ever forget that we are never alone.
- When you begin to think God is not with you - stop, take a deep breath, and know God loves you!
- Seek the center and balance in your life.
- The only things you take with you when you die are the same things you leave behind.
- Believe in yourself - God does.
- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
- Hope for the best, plan for the worst.
- You are not as good as your best day and not as bad as your worst.
- If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
- Live each day with a passion for life.
How do I remember to do it everyday
- Give thanks for all that God has provided
- Talk to God
- Pray before meals
- Schedule it in Outlook
- Pray right before you close your eyes - if only for a moment
- When I look at my children, I see that God has blessed me
- Everyday I thank God when I lie down to sleep. It has become a natural feeling. When I don't pray, feel empty.
- Specify a time everyday
- Make it a priority and routine
- Pray with my family every chance I get (daily)
- Hug my kids
- Tell my family I love them
- Be kind, gentle, patient and caring
- Be the parent your child believes you are
- Make it a habit
- Make it a routine (i.e., at bedtime, breakfast, naptime, etc.)
- Honestly feel that they are the most important things in your life and make sure they know it.
- Place a picture of your family somewhere that you will see it when you wake up. This will remind you that you are blessed and to follow that routine daily.
- When you begin to think God is not with you - stop, take a deep breath, and know God loves you!
